We are looking for an Apparel Graphic Designer for our retail client. It will be a 2-3 month engagement starting the week of April 15th. It will be a hybrid role (onsite Monday-Wednesday) based in Portland, OR with full-time hours. We are looking for candidates with Apparel Graphic Design experience.  You’ll work with the product development team to design department-specific creative print and pattern materials following trend direction while adhering to specified timelines. 

Responsibilities

  • Create trend-right prints and graphics that are brand-appropriate and submit designs for approval
  • Collaborate with the product development team on seasonal print and color direction
  • Work with the product development team to ensure timelines for approval are adhered to
  • Prepare detailed prints, technical sketches, and specification sheets as needed for the manufacturing process
  • Translate business objectives and client’s communication principles into compelling, creative designs
  • Incorporate the company’s brand standards into creative work
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop new concepts and ideas
  • Travel to collaborate with the product development team on seasonal design specifications
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in design and 3 years in a design position
  • Ability to conceptualize and design graphic materials to completion
  • Expertise and flexibility in designing materials for an apparel application
  • Proficient with industry-standard design tools and software
  • Ability to work independently and manage own schedule within the framework of the team
  • Strong organizational skills with specific attention to detail
  • A clear understanding of branding best practices
  • Strong oral/written communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop others
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks and projects
  • Ability and willingness to continue education

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $ 25.00 to $ 35.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in a 401k plan with company match.
