Seeking a skilled Copywriter to join our clients Strategic Services team. The copywriter is responsible for the creation of short-and-long form internal and external communications content to drive engagement among diverse audiences. This position includes independent development, writing, editing, and proofing content for a wide variety of on-and-offline channels

Essential Functions

  • Provide thought leadership on content strategy and integration of content efforts to support overall business goals.
  • Work closely with department staff, subject matter experts, and/or company leaders as necessary to ascertain objectives of requested projects and then position and develop content.
  • Develop, write, and edit internal and external content including e-campaigns, newsletters, direct mail, promotional collateral, press releases, video scripts, print advertising, publications, websites, and social media.
  • Consult with and provide tailored content for different business units.
  • Understand and ensure copy for online publications meets SEO standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications or Advertising/Marketing, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • 5 years of relevant experience, including online and offline promotional content required.
  • Experience in online and offline strategic content creation – both long- and short-form writing expertise required.
  • Superior editing and copy writing skills, compliant with AP Style guidelines required.
  • Demonstrated versatility and independence when writing and editing online content; strong knowledge of search engine optimization.
  • Ability to problem solve, evaluate effect of content on readers with different points of view, and independently develop on-target copy.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, but hone in on specific details to make sure all projects meet their stated goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing content strategy, audience engagement and impact.
  • Basic understanding of content marketing and distribution.
  • Ability to function as a team player, share ideas, and offer and welcome constructive reviews.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously, while adhering to set deadlines.
  • Must be able to interact successfully with a diverse population and with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Office on PC platform.
  • Industry knowledge/familiarity is a plus.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
