We are looking for an experienced, senior-level SEO-focused writer and editor to create brand-level content. The Brand SEO Content Lead will manage high-velocity content creation and editorial planning balancing SEO performance with a very high bar for editorial quality, and elevating our brand voice. It’s essential that you are a self-starter with the ability to simplify complex topics through writing and editing, and proven expertise in putting a content plan into action – across production, optimization, and amplification.

You think audience-first, and have a passion for helpful content targeted at business decision makers. Your colleagues would describe you as resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity, and open to acting on constructive feedback. You probably have your company’s style guide memorized – and you have a sixth sense for when a piece of content isn’t striking the right tone.
Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Write, edit, and curate SEO-driven content aligning to our Style Guide and brand voice
- SEO Content Across Formats: Leverage content of all kinds – including articles, blog posts, video scripts, brand journalism, and multimedia series – to meet content marketing goals and objectives
- Uphold Brand Voice: Apply brand voice and tone in every piece of SEO content
- Own & Maintain SEO Editorial Calendar: Together with key stakeholders, prioritize topics within the editorial calendar, ensure consistent quality, and optimize delivery across channels
- Creative & Copy Guidance: Deliver art direction and writing guidance to our content agency
- SME Interviews: Conduct interviews with customers and internal SMEs to illustrate and bring to life complex topics
- Trending Topics: Pitch new story ideas and content formats based on SEO insights, using SEO tools and collaborating with internal SEO team
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders across SEO & SEM research, blog, video marketing, social media, creative, customer marketing, and program management
- Clear & Organized Communication: Maintain clear, organized communication to stakeholders, even as team goals and priorities shift
- Measurement: Measure success of and optimize your content using dashboards and tools like Google Analytics
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, journalism, or business writing/editing
- Tech industry knowledge preferred. You’re plugged into what’s trending at the intersection of business and technology.
- Past experience as a writer or editor following a style guide. Only the best content passes your sniff test, and you take pride in your first draft.
- Track record of digesting complicated, jargon-filled, industry-specific materials and translating them into widely appealing copy. Ability to ask the right questions and source the right interviews and anecdotes to make these concepts digestible to a general population audience.
- Self-starter. You bring thoughtful ideas to the table and can run programs independently if needed.
- Obsessively organized. Your calendar is your best friend, and while leading meetings with stakeholders, you make sure their time is well spent.
- Proven ability to work well externally: with customers, with channel partners, and with agencies.
- Experience working with a content management system, a plus
