Summary:
The main function of an Software Database Engineer is to establish system information requirements using analysis of information in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead UI Development for the M+BP SharePoint Site
• Work with data team to create the front end for the M+BP Data Portal in SharePoint
• Design data architecture to support the total data requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
• Design and implement end-to-end data solutions including Azure data lake resource maintenance, data pipelines, and data visualizations.
• Builds and maintains moderately complex data visualizations.
• Use Continuous integration and continuous development process for code management.
• Modify existing data stores and support the creation and maintenance of new ones on Azure data platforms.
• Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
• Skills:
• Must have experience with implementing moderately complex Microsoft cloud-based data solutions including Azure data lake, data factory and DataBricks.
• Experience in building and maintaining SharePoint sites.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL and ELT processes in Azure. Experience developing data orchestration through Databricks, Azure Synapse & Data Factory.
• Working knowledge of code management through CI/CD process.
• Must have experience with building moderately complex data visualizations on PowerBI or similar visualization tools.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python (or a similar scripting language) Strong written and oral communication skills Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
• 5-7 years experience required
• Experience with broad technology delivery, including custom development using various development languages
• Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations
• Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments
• Requires practical experience and training
Typical Day in the Role
• Purpose of the Team – The team owns the platform for analytics data used for monetization and business planning. The team works in Agile and aggregates data from lots of sources, then provides that data to marketing and monetization teams for analysis.
• Key projects – This role will primarily build sharepoint sites to create new data analysis tools. The team currently uses PowerBI, this role will build new sharepoint sites to create more intuitive data analysis tools to help with various projects including data modelling, clean up of data, data querying, and provide guidance for business planners that aren’t as tech savvy (create data analysis for them in the back end and view front end of dashboards in sharepoint).
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm – This role will be responsible for taking requirements from PMs and build data models that meet their expectations, ad hoc data requests to pull data/create visualizations/data solutions for business planners – the core responsibilities are with popular data modelling, shared data cleanup, and sharepoint dashboard development.

Candidate Requirements
• Years of Experience Required – 5-7 years of experience.
• Degrees or certifications required – none required, but MBA or other related advanced degree preferred

• Best vs. Average – The ideal candidate has significant experience with Sharepoint development, power BI development, azure data lake development, and/or ATL/ETL development.
• Performance Indicators – Their performance will be measured by their progress on projects, ability to meet build deadlines, and quality of builds.
